Jean Rochefort
Jean Rochefort trained at the Paris Conservatoire, and developed a name for himself in stage plays. Throughout his career Rochefort would return to the theatre as an actor and director, but films were his immediate focus and he has since appeared in around eighty films. He won the Cesar for Best Supporting Actor in ‘L’Horloger de Saint-Paul’ (1974) and the Best Actor trophy for ‘Le Crabe-tambour’ (1977).
More recently Rochefort received a special lifetime achievement Cesar Award in 1999, and has since won praise co-starring as a retired poetry teacher opposite Johnny Hallyday in ‘L’Homme du train’ (2002).
